Ethics Policy

Our commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards in all certification and verification activities.

Maverick Certification Services is committed to conducting all certification and verification activities with the highest ethical standards. This policy establishes the ethical principles and requirements that govern the conduct of MCS personnel, contractors, auditors, and all individuals involved in our Validation & Verification services. Our ethical framework is aligned with the requirements of ISO 17029, ISO 14065, ISO 14064-3, ISO 14066, and IAF MD 6.

Our Ethical Commitments

Maverick Certification Services and every member of its Validation & Verification services team, employees, volunteers, and contractors commits and adheres to the following ethical policies:

  1. MCS personnel shall conduct themselves with integrity and professionalism at all times, maintaining honesty and truthfulness in all communications and documentation related to certification activities.
  2. Personnel shall not accept gifts, hospitality, favors, or any form of inducement that could influence, or appear to influence, certification decisions or compromise objectivity in any way.
  3. All personnel involved in certification activities shall disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest to management before engaging in any assessment or decision-making activities.
  4. MCS personnel shall maintain strict confidentiality of all client information obtained during certification activities and shall not use such information for personal gain or disclose it to unauthorized parties.
  5. Personnel shall provide accurate and complete information in all certification reports and shall not misrepresent findings, qualifications, or the scope of certification activities.
  6. MCS shall ensure that all personnel maintain the professional competence necessary to perform their assigned duties through ongoing training and professional development.
  7. Personnel shall report any suspected violations of this Ethics Policy, fraudulent activities, or unethical conduct through established reporting channels without fear of retaliation.
  8. MCS personnel shall treat all clients, colleagues, and stakeholders with respect, fairness, and dignity, regardless of their background, beliefs, or organizational characteristics.
  9. Personnel shall not engage in any activities that could bring the reputation of MCS, the certification profession, or the accreditation system into disrepute.
  10. MCS shall ensure that ethical considerations are embedded in all organizational policies, procedures, and decision-making processes related to certification services.

Anti-Corruption & Bribery

Maverick Certification Services maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward bribery and corruption in any form. We comply with all applicable anti-corruption laws and regulations in every jurisdiction where we operate.

  1. No MCS personnel shall offer, promise, give, or accept any bribe, kickback, or improper payment to or from any person or organization in connection with certification activities.
  2. MCS prohibits facilitation payments and requires that all business transactions are conducted transparently and in accordance with applicable laws.
  3. Personnel must immediately report any requests for improper payments or any suspected corrupt activities to the designated Ethics Officer.
  4. Violations of anti-corruption policies will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract, and may be reported to relevant authorities.

Whistleblower Protection

  1. MCS encourages all personnel to report any concerns about unethical conduct, violations of this policy, or any activities that may compromise the integrity of certification services.
  2. Reports can be made confidentially through designated channels, and the identity of whistleblowers will be protected to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  3. MCS strictly prohibits retaliation against any person who, in good faith, reports a suspected violation or participates in an investigation.
  4. All reports will be investigated promptly, thoroughly, and impartially, with appropriate corrective actions taken where violations are confirmed.

Policy Enforcement

  1. All MCS personnel are required to acknowledge and commit to this Ethics Policy as a condition of employment or engagement.
  2. Violations of this policy will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include verbal or written warnings, suspension, termination, or legal action as appropriate.
  3. This policy is reviewed annually and updated as necessary to ensure continued alignment with international standards and best practices in ethical governance.
